You’re deep in the middle of the backwoods of Georgia. Flesh eating zombies and treacherous villains lurk around every corner. But the most important concern is that the Writers Room in Los Angeles can view a live four camera feed from the QTake Cloud video stream thanks to Signal’s bonded cellular kit.
When “The Walking Dead” was looking for an on location data solution, they turned to Signal to put together a package that would integrate with the video assist’s QTake system. Signal’s bonded cellular Mobikit has both LAN ports and wifi for connectivity. Our engineers helped the on set video assist configure his system so that he was using data exclusively for broadcasting the video stream and not sacrificing bandwidth to onset QTake client users.
The Video Assist Operator could dedicate their energy to managing playback and leave connectivity optimization to Signal’s engineers who were able to make real time adjustments to maximize signal strength and bandwidth. Being able to remotely manage our bonded cellular kits gives our clients freedom and piece of mind.
Filming on location in remote areas of northern Georgia has many unique challenges. Having the Mobikit onsite for all of The Walking Dead’s location filming was crucial to keeping the writers in Los Angeles connected and the show moving forward. Both the show’s producers and the writing team were extremely pleased Signal’s on location data solution.
Even in the most challenging locations, internet connectivity is not out of reach!
